Friends of the Public Gardens

The Friends of the Public Gardens (TFPG), is a non-profit organization, incorporated in 1984 as a society dedicated to the preservation, enhancement and protection of the Halifax Public Gardens for the continued enjoyment of everyone.  Membership is open to anyone who subscribes to the objectives of The Friends; dues are $10 for twelve months.

What We Do

·       publish books and materials about the Halifax Public Gardens 

·       issue occasional Newsletters for members, and maintain this website 

·       raise concerns about potential threats to the integrity of the Gardens 

·       preserve material pertaining to the Gardens (videos, photos, memorabilia) 

·       arrange public guided tours of the Gardens

·       encourage public interest in the Gardens 

·       interact with public-participation organizations interested in gardens and heritage locally and internationally 

·       engage in fundraising for Gardens restoration projects
