Halifax Regional Municipality is again partnering with the Atlantic Federation of Musicians and the Music Performance Fund to present the popular Public Gardens concert series.

Story Time For Children

Every Tuesday and Thursday morning at 10:30am, join us at Uncommon Grounds in Horticultural Hall for story time. We’ll be reading from local authors as well as children’s classics. Read more

  • Every Wednesday 2:00 pm (Month of June)  and 2:00 pm & 6:00 pm (During July & August) Weather permitting - Tour length 1 hr
  • Meet: Horticultural Hall Plaza, Between Horticultural Hall and Spring Garden Rd

New Name for the Geese 

The Gardens’ Staff and The Friends of the Public Gardens created a contest for children ages 5-12 years.to select the names for the Gardens' two new Toulouse Geese; (one boy's name and one girl's name) The names were selected by a panel of judges and announced at the Gardens Open House on Saturday, May 15, 2010, .A total of 171 ballots were received. 

The name for the Girl Goose "Flora" was submitted by Cheyenne Hardy, Dartmouth, age 9.  The name for the Boy Goose "Finnegan" was submitted by Sylvia Driscoll-Sangster, Halifax, age 10.  Read more here...

** Please note that the Gardens are closed to the public during the winter months due to concern for safety, operational costs and reducing the environmental impact of visitors on the turf and walkway surfaces.
