Join us on May 5th for a panel discussion and Q&A centering on the place where preservation meets conservation in the beloved Halifax Public Gardens.

With a shift away from the idea that historical assets should be frozen in time, the Gardens continues to evolve while maintaining its defining cultural elements. Our knowledgeable panellists will discuss how even its most tangible assets have been subject to change, and how each significant change has reflected the public will at various points in history.  This engaging conversation will unpack the notion that conservation rests on carrying forward the important essence of this historic gem, rather than specific buildings, statues, trees, and plants.

Admission is free, but we ask that you register here.
