National Pollinator Week 2026 - Family Fun Event!

On Monday, June 22 from 10 a.m. to noon, join the Halifax Regional Municipality’s Naturalization Coordinator Tracy Jessen and Environment and Climate Change team, along with representatives from the Museum of Natural History, the Halifax Discovery Centre (and more) to help launch Pollinator Week in the Halifax Public Gardens.

Gather under the story time elm tree near Horticultural Hall at 10 a.m. for a kid-friendly presentation about Pollinator Week, followed by a fun, guided scavenger hunt through the Gardens. All are welcome!

 Tours of the Halifax Public Gardens

GUIDED TOURS           PUBLIC GARDENS            SUMMER 2025

Free one-hour horticultural and historical tours.  Join us as we explore the highlights of this National Historic Site; the only surviving Victorian Garden in North America. 

Scheduled tours: Monday - Sunday, daily at 10:30 am, 12noon, 1:30 pm and 3 pm, plus Wednesdays at 6:30p.  Register at the Friends of the Public Gardens Visitor Information Desk in Horticultural Hall prior to a tour beginning. Tours begin in Juan Plaza, halfway between South Park and Summer Street on the Spring Garden Road side of the Gardens.

Bird Walk - Meet at the Summer Street entrance to Camp Hill Cemetery at 7:30 am each Wednesday morning from May 21 to October 1, 2024.
