Dartmouth Concert Band

The Dartmouth Concert Band is the only community concert band in Dartmouth. The band was founded in 1967 as the Dartmouth Centennial Band, and became the Dartmouth Concert Band in 1989. It's objectives are to provide an opportunity for community members to develop or rekindle their musical interests and to provide live musical performance for the community at large.

It consists of professional and amateur musicians from the Halifax/Dartmouth metro area, from all backgrounds, who enjoy sharing their joy for the finest in concert, classical, symphonic, show tunes, swing, marches, and contemporary music. We  play a wide range of music, from easy to difficult. Under the current direction of Bob Bauer, the band performs about 10 concerts annually, which are generally free and open to the public. Membership in the band is open to all musicians of all ages, who love to play, share their talent, and further develop their skills. Current membership is about 40, and we would welcome new members from the community. If you would like to join us or wish more information, please contact band president Randy Maunder at 902-435-4916 or r.a.maunder@gmail.com
